Great Backyard Campout
Information for the 2012 Great American Backyard Campout event will be updated as the event nears. It will be held on June 23rd-24th, 2012.

mpout at Joaquin Miller Park, Saturday through Sunday, June 23 and 24. The Campout, a national, overnight event sponsored by the National Wildlife Federation, encourages families, youth and individuals to campout overnight in their backyards or local parks and discover the fun of being in the great outdoors!
This program introduces families to the Great Outdoors. The Great American Backyard Camp-Out is a nationwide event of the National Wildlife Federation. The City of Oakland Parks and Recreation Department partners with NWF to create a fun, educational family get-together at Joaquin Miller Park in 2012.
The per-person fee includes dinner, camp snacks, and a continental breakfast.
- $10 per person if you register by June 21, 2012.
- $20 per person if you register the day of (on-site).
- There is a non-resident fee of $2.00 per person.
Families are responsible for bringing their own camping equipment.
No radios, tvs, computers, pets, propane/ kerosene stoves/ lamps will be permitted.
